Flavours of Muskoka is an annual event, called an “amazing graze, the premier gourmet food and wine event of the Muskoka season.” During its previous six years, it has been a sold out event. The monies raised have contributed close to $150,000 to help make a difference in our community. We are expecting this - our seventh delicious fundraising event - to be even bigger and better.

Every year, Flavours invites Muskoka’s top hotels, restaurants, and chefs to set up a table and offer samples from their menus. In addition, a select group of Ontario’s wineries and breweries are invited to sample their wares. Last year, Flavours obtained the participation of over 35 restaurants and wineries.

Flavours is a highly anticipated event in Muskoka, with over 400 people attending every year. Taking place at the beginning of the busy summer season, it offers a unique opportunity for you to raise your profile in this lucrative market. It is a prestigious and extravagant event attended by a large cross section of business, social and community leaders – a great venue in which to showcase your products.

Flavours of Muskoka 2008 takes place on Wednesday, June 25th at the Port Carling Memorial Community Centre, 3 Bailey St. Again, it is our intention to raise funds to support community events and performing arts programs, including the Kaleidoscope Arts-in-Education programs for children and the Muskoka Lakes Music Festival.

The Muskoka Lakes Music Festival is set to begin its eleventh season of presenting high quality musical peformances throughout Muskoka. The Festival's objective is to initiate, organize and conduct an annual music festival in various communities within the Muskoka Lakes region, thereby enriching and expanding the musical and artistic opportunities in Muskoka. Through live performances by renowned Canadian artists, the Festival creates an environment to cultivate and encourage new and established musical talent by providing a forum to perform concerts with professional musicians from around the globe.

Kaleidoscope Arts-in-Education Programs are an initiative of the Music Festival. Kaleidoscope develops innovative, integrated arts programming for schools, children and teachers in the Muskoka area. By connecting schools and local children with professional artists in the community, Kaleidoscope strives to enrich students’ learning experiences and teachers’ expertise in the arts. Our artistic workshops awaken creativity, celebrate cultural diversity, and deepen awareness and understanding of complex issues. Through workshops in local schools, the annual Kaleidoscope Children’s Festival, teacher professional development workshops, a children's choir and summer camp programs, children and teachers can participate in innovative arts-based projects led by professional performing and visual artists. Kaleidoscope's growing roster of artists includes painters, folk singers, printmakers, carvers, potters, dancers, pianists, actors, fabric artists, photographers, and sculptors, all from the Muskoka area.
